Anna Goodere: Teacher profiles
Anna was introduced to complementary therapies when studying at Drama School in the mid 90’s. In 2001 she received a shiatsu. Anna found it a beautiful and powerful treatment. From that moment she fell in love with shiatsu. This experience led her to undergo a 3 year training at the British School of Shiatsu which she completed in 2004.
In 2005 Anna moved to Dublin and here she trained in holistic massage and then studied acupuncture at Lansdowne College, graduating in June 09. In September 2010 she furthered her training by going to China and completing a clinical internship at the Hangzhou Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Anna is continually updating her skills by attending a wide variety of postgraduate courses in shiatsu, massage and acupuncture. Anna has a FETAC 6, train the trainer qualification and teach shiatsu foundation courses.
Since 2004 Anna has worked full time as a therapist, working in various clinics and corporate environments including Google, RTE and Dublin Airport. She regularly treats clients with physical ailments but also believe there is a strong link between mind and body and that receiving shiatsu/massage and acupuncture is a great way of relieving stress, anxiety and depression.
As a therapist Anna feels she is very intuitive and will work sensitively and adapt the treatment to the constitution and energy levels of the client at that particular time. She is able to give a very gentle healing treatment or one which is much more vigorous and dynamic.
Anna is also very passionate about food and nutrition, which featured as a large part of her shiatsu training and will incorporate her own perspective on nutrition as well as general lifestyle advice into her consultation.
Anna has a particular interest in fertility, pregnancy therapies and the postnatal period and is a qualified pregnancy massage therapist she has attended various postgraduate courses in pregnancy and fertility acupuncture, including courses with Debra Betts.
“I myself suffered recurrent miscarriages. This lead me into detailed research into all aspects of miscarriage and pregnancy. As a result of my research, I used various natural methods, including; nutrition, acupuncture and hypnotherapy, both before and during my pregnancy, subsequently giving birth to a beautiful baby girl in August 2013. I am passionate about sharing and helping those who are going through similar experiences”.
Anna is a member of AFPA and so all her acupuncture treatments are approved and reimbursable by all healthcare insurance providers.”
